What's in this test

So you know what to expect, and what to tell us about. Everyone in this demo is made up, and nothing leaves your computer.

Works today

  • People, households, notes and timelines
  • Home, by role and by day of the week
  • Follow-ups, including the ones that start by themselves
  • Group attendance, group pages and printed rosters
  • Children's check-in and check-out, labels, rooms and history
  • Events, public sign-up and waitlists
  • Filling serving plans
  • Giving: batches, gifts, funds, pledges and statements
  • Placements, the Care Queue, Leaders and the Migration Desk
  • Smart lists, reports, measures and the audit log
  • Light and dark, and the keyboard shortcuts

Not in this round

Please don't report these yet
  • Real email and texts
  • Online giving and online payments
  • Phones and tablets: this copy runs only on the Mac it's on
  • Windows: a Windows version comes later
  • A hosted version: for now Hale runs on one computer

What you'll notice

An amber "Demo mode" banner sits at the top of every page. That's expected, because the demo accounts share a password.

After a few days the demo's dates fall behind, and upcoming events become past ones. Start over to get fresh dates; Get started says how.

Works, with limits

WhatWhat to expect
MessagesEverything looks real, but nothing is delivered. The Outbox shows sent_simulated.
WaitlistsPeople move up, but nobody is told.
Payments and giftsRecorded by hand. Nothing is charged.
ServingYou can fill the plans that are there, but can't create teams, positions or plans.
Check-in rooms and follow-up stepsYou get the ones that come with the demo, and can't add your own.
VettingHale keeps the records. It doesn't run checks, and doesn't yet require one before installing a leader.
Spreadsheet importIt works, but don't press Download rejected rows. It imports a second time. Assigning from the Unmatched queue doesn't work yet.
Rooms and history for staffAdministrators, pastors and staff have to type the address to reach them.
FacesInitials for now. Photos aren't built.
