Get started

From here to your first task in Hale. It takes about five minutes.

Download Hale for Mac

Version 1.10.1, 42 MB. For macOS 14 Sonoma or newer, on Apple silicon or Intel. There's nothing else to install.

It's in the note Keith sent you. The download starts, and this page stays open.

  1. Find the note Keith sent you

It has the password for the download, which account to use, and how you'll get the demo password. Neither password appears on this site.

  2. Read what's in this test

Two minutes, so you know what's real and what's pretending.

  3. Download Hale and put it in Applications

Download the zip and double-click it. Drag Hale from the new folder into your Applications folder. That folder's How to test Hale page has every step too.

  4. Open it, once with Open Anyway

The first time, your Mac says it can't check Hale for harmful software. Click Done, open System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down, and click Open Anyway. After that, Hale opens like any other app.

  5. Sign in

Hale opens on its sign-in page, in its own window. The first start takes a little longer while it sets up the demo church.

  6. See what your role sees

Your week in Hale shows what you'll open on.

  7. Watch or read your first how-to

Start with Getting around Hale, then your role's first few.

  8. Do what you'd really do in a normal week

Try to get real jobs done. The how-tos are there if you get stuck, and getting stuck is useful for us to know.

  9. Tell us what you find

Anything counts: something broken, a confusing word, a slow screen. Here's how.

Two small things Please don't use Change password. If you do and forget it, you'll need to start over.
The check-in screen has no sign-out, so try it last. To leave it, start over, which also resets the demo.
